Welcome to The Laid Back Cat. We are a “ for cats only” boarding facility- proudly caring for the kitties in Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill as well as in the Triad areas of North Carolina and beyond.
We know that your cats are more than just pets. They are members of your family. When being boarded, your cat needs and deserves a comfortable, stress free and secure environment. Designed specifically for the needs of cats, at The Laid Back Cat we promise to care for your kitties as though they were our own.
Making sure that your pet is relaxed and comfortable is our number one priority. Large climate controlled suites and soothing music accompany the personal attention your kitties will receive during their stay.
The Laid Back Cat was designed to offer our guests as much stimulation as possible. Because we want our guests to stay fit and active, each suite has three levels of shelves and ledges for those cats that are comfortable up high.
Each suite has a window with a window seat so that the cats can enjoy watching the birds at the many bird feeders around the kennel. Plantings were chosen to attract butterflies.
The Laid Back Cat has no cages. Instead, we offer oversized walk-in suites. There are 21 suites measuring 4ft x 8ft x 8ft high. These can accommodate up to 3 cats from the same household. Additionally, we have 8 larger suites measuring 6ft x 8ft x 8ft high that can accommodate up to 4 cats. We also have 1 extra large suite which measures 8ft x 8ft x 8ft high for the 5 cat household.
10 kennels have access to individual outdoor areas.
We accept cash or checks (not accepting credit cards at this time)
The Laid Back Cat does not offer a discount for extended stays. We believe that the longer the stay, the more attention the kitty needs and will receive. We do offer 10% off the cost of a kennel with 1 cat to active military personnel and seniors over 65.
Because we use premium litter – a mixture or corn and walnut shell – we charge a one time litter fee of $7.
